Benefits and possibilities of this project:

Get to know your neighbours by swapping and sharing your
produce through the scheme

Eggs, fruit and veges, fish, game...all this and more is grown, caught or produced on our street and could be used to trade and swap for things you need. At 58 Poole Street we have excess free range eggs and lemons. We also have a variety of seedlings - at this point only the lettuce has sprouted. So you can come and get some or have the excess seeds and create your own seedlings. We have peas, lemon cucumber, zucchini, eggplant, peppers, carrots, beans, parsley Spinach, coriander, pumpkin, pak choi, silverbeet and brandywine tomatoes.

LOCAL FOOD DIRECTORY:
Are you worried about your food miles? I recently went to meeting for transition town - Motueka. While I was there someone mentioned that with the rapid increase in oil prices and climate change we wouldn't be able to have the food we currently enjoy - so I thought I'd check out what we did produce locally.........If this interests you please feel free to contribute to the list and/or if you produce something locally and want me to list it or even post an ad on the page, I would be happy to do that.
Great food is produced right here in the Motueka district, or at least in New Zealand. I'm slowly going through the supermarkets to check out where our food is produced and though that I would note what I find in the list below - haven't got much past the wine and I haven't got all of those..........we produce a lot of that locally!!!
Some of these goods are expensive for a lot of us - however when possible and if theres not much difference in the price, buy local when you're out shopping:
